Activity Snapshots: On-site visit to CTM on 26 Jan

The Centre for Data Science (CDS) organized students to visit CTM on 26 January 2021 (Tuesday), which aimed to provide opportunity for understanding Telecommunication big data processing and network management. The places visited include CTM Data Center and CTM Network Management Center.  CTM Data Center is the first Data Center in Macau that received 4 international certifications including ISO20000, ISO27001, ISO14001 and ISO22301. CTM Network Management Center is a 7×24 network performance monitoring center, affirmed by the Macau Government and the National Committee for Disaster Reduction.

Besides, Mr. Komix Hui, Director of Information Technology of CTM given a great speech on the topic “Development and operation of Data Warehouse”. Mr Hui introduced in detail what the data warehouse is and how to develop and operate a data warehouse.

This visit created an opportunity of social practice for our students to learn more about development, management and operation of data in real life.
